FARMINGTON — Farmington Police released new information Thursday afternoon on the suspect who held up a Zions Bank at 1663 N. Main Street on Wednesday night.
The get-away car is now being described as a tan Chevrolet Lumina with primer on the rear passenger door, said Farmington Police Chief Wayne Hansen.
Police also have new photos of the suspect, described as a man in his late teens or early 20s, about 6 feet tall, dressed in blue jeans and a blue hoodie pulled up over his head and a mask over the lower portion of his face.
He approached a teller, handed over a bag and asked for money, police said.
The teller told police the man had a “youngish-sounding voice,” Hansen said.
The suspect then fled into a neighborhood east of the bank, where he apparently fled in the Lumina.
A Farmington resident called police Thursday morning reporting that a young man had approached her at the Smith’s Fuel Center, 1316 N. Highway 89, shortly before the robbery, asking for $10 to put gas in his tan vehicle. Hansen said the women gave him money.
Police watched the surveillance video at the fuel station, which gave them a more accurate description of the car and the suspect, Hansen said.
