SALT LAKE CITY — The man accused of firing at Davis County sheriff’s deputies on the Legacy Parkway last month will be in 3rd District Court on Friday on 21 new felony counts.
The charges involve shots fired at a pickup truck on I-215 in Salt Lake County.
Marco Antonio Guizar, 37, was charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court with two counts of first-degree felony attempted murder, second-degree felony use of a firearm by a restricted person, and 18 counts of third-degree felony discharge of a firearm.
The charges are in addition to those filed in 2nd District Court. Guizar was also charged with several misdemeanors.
Those charges stem from an incident in which Guizar allegedly shot at a vehicle on Jan. 16 on the Legacy Parkway and fled from a Davis County deputy.
He then crashed his car into another and fired at deputies, who returned fire.
No one was injured.
