BOUNTIFUL — Elder Yoshihiko Kikuchi, an emeritus member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at the monthly dinner meeting of the Centerville chapter of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers.
The dinner, open to the public, will be held March 5 at the Wight House, 95 N. Main, in Bountiful, at 6:30 p.m.
Kikuchi, a native of Japan, was called into full-time church service Oct. 1, 1977.
His church service includes assistant executive director in the Temple Department, assistant executive director of the Missionary Department, the Family History Library and the Church Curriculum Department.
He also served as president of several areas in North America.
In 1997, Kikuchi returned from Tokyo, where he served for three years as the Tokyo Temple president. He also served as president of the Hawaii Honolulu Mission and as stake president of the Tokyo Japan Stake.
Prior to his church service, Kikuchi was regional manager for Rena-Ware Distributors Co., for Japan. He also owned several companies in Japan.
He is married to Toshiko Koshiya Kikuchi of Hokkaido, Japan. They have four children and five grandchildren
He was given emeritus status on Oct. 1, 2011.
