Richard Arthur Eden, 55, older brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2013. His passing united him with his parents, his older brother Paul and younger sister Julie.

Richard was born August 31, 1957, in Salt Lake City, to Gerald Arthur and Vivian Hussey Eden. He excelled in Seminary, was an Eagle Scout, and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from the University of Utah (U of U) and was employed for the past 33 years at the U of U Medical Center. He had a gift for languages and poetry. He was fabulously talented, intelligent, caring, and had a huge heart. During his teenage years, he made many sacrifices to help care for his brothers and sister after the passing of their mother. Richard made holidays special, remembered birthdays and went out of his way to make his nieces and nephews laugh. His poetry commemorated special occasions and family events.

Uncle Rick will be greatly missed. We feel honored to have had him as our brother and uncle and are grateful that he is now at peace.

Richard is survived by his brothers: Tim (Kris), State College, PA; Scott (Cecile), Brigham City; Stephen (Shauna), Ogden; Mathew (Heather), Rio Rancho, NM; and Lance (Gretchen), North Salt Lake; 20 nieces and nephews and five grand nieces and nephews; step-mother, Coyla; five step-brother and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013, 11 a.m. at the LDS Church, 55 W. 350 North, North Salt Lake. A viewing will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Lake View Memorial Cemetery in Bountiful. Online guest book and direction map can be located at
