LAYTON — Southbound I-15 was closed temporarily and FrontRunner traffic stopped between Layton and Farmington Friday after a truck went down an embankment and landed on its top near the FrontRunner tracks.

The accident occurred about 3:45 p.m. near the Layton Parkway, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The truck struck another vehicle,  hit a concrete barrier and went over an embankment, coming to rest on its top, a highway patrol press release said.

UHP troopers closed the southbound lane of the freeway due to concerns of a possible hazmat spill.

FrontRunner was also stopped between Layton and Farmington while the accident was being cleared. A bus transported passengers between the two stations.

One person in the truck and two in the vehicle that was struck were treated for minor injuries.
