FARMINGTON — Marco Antonio Guizar, the man who shot at a truck on Jan. 16 on Legacy Parkway pleaded guilty to three felony charges in 2nd District Court.

Guizar, 37, will be sentenced on May 16, after pleading guilty to first-degree felony attempted aggravated murder, and third-degree felony charges of aggravated assault and evading.

Dispatchers received several calls of someone in a passenger vehicle shooting at a pickup truck on Legacy Parkway, police said.

The vehicle exited the parkway on Park Lane in Farmington and police chased the car through several neighborhoods.  During the chase, shots were exchanged between Guizar and two Farmington officers, Chief Wayne Hanse said at the time of Guizar’s arrest.

Guizar sustained superficial injuries. No one else was hurt, but Guizar’s car and the police vehicles were damaged.

Guizar still faces multiple charges in 3rd District Court for similar incidents in Salt Lake County.
