BOUNTIFUL — Votes are being tallied for student videos that emphasize the importance of making good financial decisions, in a competition sponsored by Zions Bank.

Two of the 16 entries selected for the competition were submitted by Davis County teens, including a 60-second video by Joshua Barlow and Taylor Tingey of Mueller Park Junior High, and another by Sydney Jimenez of Mountain High.

“Hot Chocolate Dilemma,” is the title of the Mueller Park students’ entry, which features a time traveler who goes back in time to teach an important financial lesson to his younger self, according to a release.

Jimenez’s video, entitled “Futures Р Our Greatest Investments,” shows students at the alternative school demonstrating the concepts of saving to their young children.

The contest drew 70 entries. A $1,000 cash prize will be awarded to the student or students whose video gets the most votes. A matching amount will also go to their school. The second-place winner and their school will receive $500, and third place winners will earn $250 for themselves and their school.

To vote, go to facebook.com/zionsbank before March 31.
