BOUNTIFUL — Local Davis County hockey players from Syracuse, Layton, Northridge and other high schools across the county will converge on Wednesday, April 17 at the South Davis Recreation Center in Bountiful.

That night starting at 8 p.m., local hockey club members will lace up the skates one last time for the High School hockey season. The Davis Clipper will sponsor the annual All-Star hockey game.

“It’s great to be able to support the local hockey teams,” said Gail Stahle, Clipper Publisher. “We’ve done this for many years, and it’s exciting for the fans that go out and watch their local players play in a local arena.”

This year, the All-Star event will include a pair of games, rather than just one game, as in year’s past. Although the rosters have not been announced yet, two organizers have said that the two teams in the varsity game will have DCI and Viewmont players on one team, and Davis and Northridge players on the other. That game will start at approximately 9:15 p.m. at the recreation center.

The junior, or youth, All-Star game will start before the varsity players hit the ice, giving fans an extra game to watch that evening.

Admission for the game is either $2 or a canned food item. Proceeds will be donated to the local food bank.
