KAYSVILLE — The Davis County Democratic Party has announced that its organizing convention for 2013 will be held on May 18 at Legacy Junior High School in Kaysville.
Sen. Karen Mayne, D-West Valley City, will be the keynote speaker. The theme will be "strengthening community values."
The party will also discuss its platform and hear resolutions in addition to electing delegates to the state convention and electing new officers for the following positions: county party chair, vice chair, secretary, and treasurer; legislative district chair, vice chair, and secretary.
Party leadership stated in an e-mail that “all 2012 caucus attendees are considered county party delegates, serving a 2-year term” and should attend. The Davis Republican Party organizing convention will be June 1 at Syracuse High school, and all county delegates are expected to attend.
"This is an organizing convention for County Party Officers, Legislative District Chairs and Vice Chairs, Senate District Chairs and Vice Chairs and State Central Committee (13) members from Davis County," according to the party website. "Thank you for your willingness to participate and represent your neighbors at this Convention. Our Davis County goal is 100% attendance and full representation from all of our 195 precincts!"
The Republican state convention is May 18 at the South Towne Exposition Center, in Sandy.
