FARMINGTON — A 24-year-old man has been charged with second-degree  felony theft after he allegedly stole his grandmother’s safe containing gold and silver pieces and pawning it.

Kory Brooks Rigby was booked in the Davis County Jail, and is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Clearfield Police arrested Rigby last week, after he allegedly took the safe, which looked like a black briefcase. The safe contained gold and silver pieces amounting to thousands of dollars,  according to police.

Officers found the safe at a pawn shop with the gold and silver still in it.
