OGDEN — The first Ragnar Relays Trail event may be closed, but sign ups are being accepted for the second and final Utah Ragnar Relays Trails event.
The Ragnar Trail Snowbasin event, which will take place on Aug. 16 and 17, is registering runners who want to take part in the final Utah trail event of the year. The trail will be in three parts, each with its own name.
The Green Pond Trail will be the easiest of the three and is a four-mile run with minimal elevation changes. The Last Chance Trail and Porcupine Trail connect with each other; however, the yellow trail is considered the “medium” trail, and the red zone the hardest.
The yellow trail is 5.2 miles and the red trail is 5.4 miles.
Early registration runs through May 31. Registration costs are as follows: through May 31, a regular ream (eight people) is $1040 or $130 per person. An ultra team (four people) is $640 per team, or $160 per person.
Regular registration from June 1-28: A regular team is $1,160 per team or $145 per person. An ultra team is $700 per team or $175 per person.
Last chance registration from June 29 to July 19: A regular team is $1,280 per team or $160 per person. An ultra team is $760 per team or $190 per person.
All teams that register will run approximately 120 miles.
The race will take approximately 20 hours to complete and will start between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday. Each runner will run approximately 15 miles during the event.
