8/26/86 - 4/11/13

Brandon Michael Dixon was called home on April 11, 2013 at the age of 26. Although his years on this earth were short, his list of achievements was long, his adventures were many, the lives he touched are countless, and the happy memories he leaves behind will live on forever. Brandon’s uncanny knack for survival is what got him through the first years of his childhood, and at the age of 6, he was given a second chance at life when he was adopted by loving parents Mike and Diane Dixon of West Bountiful. At the age of 8, Brandon was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and two years later he and his little brother Mikey were sealed to their parents for time and all eternity.

After high school, Brandon married his life-long friend Erin Young and enlisted in the US Marine Corps where he proudly served two tours during his active duty – first to Ramadi, Iraq “Operation Iraqi Freedom” in 2006 and then to Helmand Province, Afghanistan “Operation Enduring Freedom” in 2008; 1st Battalion / 6th Marines. Brandon’s favorite past times were fishing trips with his dad and teaching his daughter Maddie how to swim. He cared deeply about animals, he could fix anything that was broken, he was extremely thoughtful, and his quick wit and brutal honesty usually had us rolling on the floor with laughter. Brandon was fearless, shameless, and adventurous. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family and he always stood up for the underdog.

Brandon is survived by his beautiful daughter Maddie (4), his wife Erin, his parents Mike and Diane Dixon, his brother Mikey Dixon, his mother-in-law Lisa Young, and his sister-in-laws Amber Young and Ashley (Dustin) Moore. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the West Bountiful 6th Ward Chapel, 1750 N. 900 West, West Bountiful. There will be a viewing on Friday April 19, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street, Bountiful. Interment will be at the Centerville City cemetery.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at the Salt Lake City V.A. Medical Center for the endless support you gave to Brandon, and our sincere gratitude for the countless others who shared so much love and friendship with him along the way.
