KAYSVILLE — Safe Kids Davis County is again gearing up for the annual Safe Kids F.I.T. Fair.

It will be held May 4 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Barnes Park, 200 N. 900 West.

The Davis County Health Department is partnering with Head Start’s Get F.I.T. (Families Involved Together) Fair for the 13th annual event.

“Warmer weather brings an increase in the amount of time that children spend outdoors playing sports,” said Chris Bateman, a community health educator with the Davis County Health Department and the Safe Kids Davis County coordinator. “This means that the number of injuries to children can increase.”

The fair will provide more than 40 interactive safety- and health-related booths and activities to educate families on ways to stay safe and fit while having fun, he said.

The fair will have K9 dog demonstrations, child ID kits, helicopter landings, an inflatable slide, the Gold Medal Mile, car seat safety and the Intermountain LiVe Well Just Jumpin’ Team.

More than 300 bike helmets will be given away. Participants can enter to win a bike or other prizes.

Children who bring their bike and helmet can participate in the LiVe Well Bike Safety Rodeo, where they can learn bike safety skills.
