KAYSVILLE — Approximately 5,000 customers will be without power on Saturday night while a new transformer at the city’s main substation is brought online.
Starting at 11 p.m., power to the central area of the city will be turned off and is expected to be back on by 7 a.m.
Residents and businesses have been notified via postcards and robo-calls, and information has been provided to the media and on the city website, kaysvillecity.com, said John Thacker, city manager.
“The transformer has already been installed,” said Thacker. “We need to do the line work to hook it up.”
During the outage, a 46,000-bolt line will be reconfigured, he said, which will provide increased capacity for future growth.
