WEST BOUNTIFUL — Shannan is the mother of five, and raised all her children in West Bountiful. The northern California transplant met her husband at BYU and the pair moved to Bountiful to raise their families.
Shannan was able to stay at home with her children and found time to serve as PTA president. She has also stayed active in her church, and served in positions ranging from Primary president to Relief Society president.
The best part is just watching them accomplish things and become independent and grow up,” she said. “They’ve all just amazed me ђ one daughter a math teacher and one a school counselor ђ they just do really well at what they do.”
She encourages mothers to take a deep breath and pay attention to every moment with their children.
“Now I’m one of those old ladies saying it’s only a second and they’ll be grown,” she said, laughing. “Enjoy every stage because they last just a moment.”
