WOODS CROSS — It’s common for adult children to recognize how much their mothers love and support them, but finding that from a 13-year-old by is rare.
“My mother is very special; she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen,” wrote Ethan about his mother, Michelle, when he nominated her. “She takes care of whatever we need, even if she needs something a lot more than we do. My mother is a true example of a strong, willing and patient person.”
Michelle is the mother of four, two girls and two boys, and lives on the same street where she grew up.
She started working in marriage and family therapy at the missionary clinic for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in December.
When she learned that she had been chosen as a Mother of the Year, one of her first thoughts was “So it wasn’t really that bad that I forgot Ethan at kindergarten that day,” she said, recalling the one time the school had to call her to get her son.
Ethan, a Clipper carrier, seems to agree.
“I love her more than anything in the world,” he wrote. “She is my Mother of the Year."
