KAYSVILLE — The Utah Department of Transportation announced Thursday that it prefers the Glover Lane option for the West Davis Corridor.

The alternative chosen, B1, would route the corridor just west of the Bluff Road through Syracuse. It would end at 4100 South in West Point, according to Randy Jeffries, project director.

The decision is not final. A 90-day comment period will allow residents to provide feedback on the plan and offer suggestions. Three public hearings are scheduled. The first will be on June 11 at the Legacy Events Center, 151 S. 100 West in Farmington, the second at June 12 at West Point Junior High School, 277 W. 550 North in West Point and the third on June 13 at Freedom Elementary School, 4555 W. 5500 South, in Hooper.

An open house is scheduled at each location between 4 and 8 p.m., with a formal public hearing between 6 and 9 p.m. Comments may also be sent to udot.utah.gov/westdavis or emailed to westdavis@utah.gov.

A final decision on the route won't be made until spring of 2014, after all input is considered and UDOT's findings are sent to the Federal Highway Administration for its record of decision.
