BOUNTIFUL — The Bountiful chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers will hold its monthly dinner meeting on Tuesday, May 21st at 6:30 p.m. at the Wight House Reception Center, the group announced in a press release.
The hall is located at 95 North Main Street in Bountiful, and Shirlee Silversmith, director of Indian Affairs for the state of Utah, will speak. The registration deadline has technically passed, but you may be able to make reservations by calling Roger Bennett at 801 292-1176.
Silversmith attended Brigham Young University and Arizona State University, where she received a bachelor of science degree in secondary education and a master’s degree in education.
Since 2009, she has worked as the Learning for Life Director, an affiliate of the Boy Scouts of America, at the Utah National Parks Council, according to the release.
Her work included “character education lessons” in schools and communities and career development programs for youth in tribal nations.
