Viewmont, Bountiful bring home medals

PROVO — Four athletes from Davis County schools earned first place in their events at the state track meet last weekend.

Viewmont High junior Kira Gilbreath earned a gold medal in the girl’s shot put with a distance of 38 feet and 4.25 inches. 

On the boys’ side, Bountiful High senior Connor Jensen won first in the 4A 110-meter hurdle race with a time of 14.53 seconds. Syracuse High senior Jaxon Wirthin did the same in the 5A race with a time of 14.96. 

Layton High senior Marcus Kemp took first place in the high jump with a height of 6 feet and 8 inches.
