WOODS CROSS — Applications are being accepted to hunt cow elk, doe deer or doe pronghorn for the fall hunting season.
The Utah Department of Wildlife Resources on Wednesday began accepting applications to hunt all antlerless big game and will continue to accept applications until 11 p.m. on Thursday, June 20. Applicants will be included in a drawing for what will be one of the first hunts to open during hunting season.
For the second consecutive year, said division spokeswoman Staci Coon, the entire application for will be done online. You can sign up at wildlife.utah.gov.
Coons, who writes and produces Utah’s hunting, fishing and trapping guidebooks, said in a press release that anyone who doesn’t have a physical copy of the book can download a digital copy once they apply for their permit.
The guidebook includes detailed maps, boundary descriptions, a list of available hunts and all information needed to apply for this year’s hunts.
“Once you get used to not having a printed guidebook, we think you’ll like it,” she said in a press release. “Now, everything you need to apply is available in a single spot on our website.”
All information for upcoming hunts can be viewed and downloaded at wildlife.utah.gov/dwr/highlights.html.
