SYRACUSE — Antelope Island, located just outside of Syracuse, is holding a pair of Utah State Parks events this Friday and Saturday, June 7 and 8.

On Friday, the park will hold a discussion of insects at 3 p.m. in the visitor’s center.

Saturday’s event, called the Mushroom Springs Hike, will start at 10 a.m. at the visitor’s center and will guide registrants through a four-mile hike to Mushroom Springs. There will be a discussion of the island’s history surrounding the use of water.

Entrance fees to the park will apply. However, there is no cost to attend either event.

Registration is being taken for both events. For the insects event, call 801-721-9569. For the Mushroom Springs Hike, call 801-649-5742 or email clayshelley@utah.gov.
