CLINTON — A man is in custody after he allegedly slit the throat of another man at a Clinton home on Monday morning.
William Thomas Dominguez, 31, was booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of first-degree felony attempted murder following the altercation.
Police were called to a home near 700 West and 2400 North about 2:10 a.m. by people who lived there, according to Clinton Police Lt. Dave Valentine.
Dominguez arrived at the house upset, wanting to speak to his brother about a family matter, Valentine said.
The victim answered the door and Dominguez allegedly demanded to see his brother. He then allegedly grabbed the man and slit his throat, Valentine said.
When paramedics arrived, the victim refused treatment, saying he could take care of it himself.
"I don't know if he pulled away or what but the cut wasn't very deep," Valentine said.
The cut did not hit any arteries or damage anything else.
When officers arrived, Dominguez was still in the driveway, then was taken into custody.
The Davis County Attorney's Office is considering charges.
