With the win the Falcons remain in the hunt for the Region 1 title.
“We did a good job of getting this win,” said Davis coach Souli Phongsavath.
“We didn’t play real well in the first half, but much better in the second half.”
Clearfield jumped out 1-0 on a long goal.
“That was just one of those strange goals that happen sometimes in this sport,” Phongsavath said.
Davis came back and scored two goals of its own off the feet of Gentrie Maag and Casey Black to take the 2-1 lead into the halftime break.
“I was happy to see us respond with a couple of goals right away,” Phongsavath said.
Jake Mcray’s second half goal put the game away for Davis.
“We did a good job of keeping our composure when we fell behind and we were able to get the win,” Phongsavath said.
The defense was anchored by goalies Bracken Flitton and JT Webster who combined for the four-save win.
“Our defense did a great job of keeping them away from the goal,” Phongsavath said. “Bracken Flitton and JT Webster gave Clearfield fits and made it difficult for them to get any real good looks in the second half.
“Our defense kept the pressure on them in the second half.”
The Darts, according to Phongsavath, are in a battle with the Vikings for first place in Region 1.
“It’s always fun to be in Region play and have everything so close,” he said.
“We just need to take care of business and we should be fine.”
