As a results, local golf courses around Davis County will hold special events to celebrate dads everywhere.
In Layton, Swan Lakes Golf Course is holding its annual “Father’s Day Tournament” Saturday, June 15.
Time slots have filled up quickly in the past, as it’s been a popular event since its inaugural event in 1997.
“We still have time slots available for anyone who wants to come,” said Chad Romney, superintendent. “We like running this tournament and having people come and have a good time.”
Romney also said the tournament still has plenty of tee times available, running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or later, depending on space.
The tournament, as in year’s past, is eligible for fathers and grandfathers who want to play with their kids, and each dad can play with multiple children in the same round.
The Callaway Handicap System will be used and all flights are according to the children’s age and gender.
Other golf courses around the county will be holding tournaments through the weekend Hwever, none are specifically intended to be “Father’s Day” tournaments, making Layton’s a unique one for locals to be a part of.
