BOUNTIFUL – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying four men who shot a duck with a bow and arrow at Bountiful pond last week.
A witness told Davis County Sheriff’s deputies she saw four white men get out of a silver Toyota FJ Cruiser and shoot the duck. She confronted the men and they jumped back into the vehicle and left the scene. The witness called police but didn’t have the men’s license plate number, according to Davis County Sheriff’s Sgt. Susan Poulsen.
A deputy tried without success to catch the duck, which ran around with the arrow sticking out of it.
“It seemed to be OK at the time” Poulsen said Wednesday morning. She didn’t know whether the duck is still alive.
“Maybe somebody will be able to catch it and see that it gets veterinary care,” she said.
Meanwhile, police are looking for the men who shot the duck. Anyone with information is asked to call Davis County dispatch at 801-451-4150.
