FARMINGTON – The Bountiful/Davis Art Center wants to remind everyone that its doors are still open.
The art center, which recently started its summer class schedule, still has plenty of spaces left for kids interested in comic books, watercolor and more.
“I don’t think people know we’re in Farmington,” said Theresa Otteson, education coordinator at the art center. “We’re still running into people who say ‘Your building’s gone. I thought your doors were closed.’ It’s been frustrating.”
For those people who didn’t realize the art center was holding summer classes, there’s still plenty of time to get involved. Unlike the rest of the year, summer classes are held every day for a single week. A new session starts the following week.
“We found that works best for people,” said Otteson. “Parents like it because they can work around holiday schedules and kids don’t miss a class because of vacation.”
This year’s schedule has several returning classes, including one focusing on watercolor and another touching on a variety of new concepts. New classes include comic book illustration and street art concepts, which will give kids the chance to experience painting with an airbrush.
A complete schedule of classes, descriptions and prices is available online at bdac.org. Online registration is temporarily disabled, since the center recently redid its website and the online shopping cart hasn’t been put back up.
Registration can still be done over the phone at 801-451-3660 or in person at 25 E. State St. in Farmington. The art center is located on the second floor of the Memorial Courthouse.
