SYRACUSE — Jamie Nagle, the incumbent mayor of Syracuse, announced in a letter Wednesday that she has withdrawn from the race for another term.
“It is hard to leave one of the most rewarding, challenging and thrilling jobs I have ever had,” the mayor wrote, adding that she wants to spend her time and energy on her family and career.
Nagle said she will serve until the end of her term, which runs through the end of this year.
During her three and a half years in office, there have often been open conflicts with city council members. Within the past two weeks, the city manager and city attorney have announced their resignations.
