SYRACUSE – As the Fourth of July holiday wanes, new opportunities to see the great outdoors appear.
At Syracuse’s Antelope Island, there will be a pair of events held starting Tuesday, July 9, and running through Friday, July 12.
From July 9-11 there will be a kids summer camp for youth ages nine to 13. On each day from 9-4 p.m., campers will learn about wildlife, salt brine shrimp and brine flies.
Part of the journey will be an exploration of the beaches by canoe.
Participants can sign up for one day or all three, and the cost is $25 per day. That includes entrance to the park, supplies and lunch. Registration is required.
On July 12, the Island will have a kayak tour to discover the “Birds of the Great Salt Lake.” The kayak tour will begin at 9 a.m. and space is limited.
To sign up for the kids camp, call 801-721-9569.
Registration for the kayak tour can be done online at antelopeisland.utah.gov or by calling 801-721-9569.
