LAYTON — If you’ve got that talent as a singer, dancer, or instrumentalist – but haven’t shared it with the world, Saturday, April 18 is your chance.

“Show Layton Your Talent” is a time for amateur performers to show their stuff. Layton Parks & Recreation is sponsoring the event, in conjunction with the Davis Arts Council.

Auditions will be at the Layton High School Auditorium, with the public invited to view the auditions.

Applicants had to submit a CD or DVD in order to be considered. Participants all the way from Bountiful to Cache Valley are expected to attend. Rules and applications are available by visiting the website, www.laytoncity.org or www.davisarts.org. Applications can also be picked up at the parks or arts center offices.

The top 10 finalists chosen by judges will then perform at the opening concert of the Davis Arts Council’s Summer “Night with the Stars” season at the Kenley Centennial Amphitheater. During the performance, the audience will assist in choosing the final three winners.

First place winner will receive $1,000, 2nd place $500 and 3rd place $250. For more information, call Michelle Howard, special events coordinator, at 801-336-8924 or the Arts Council at 801-546-8575.
