BOUNTIFUL – A new Boots to Business program being offered by the federal Small Business Administration in Utah aims to help veterans obtain employment after military service.

Operated in conjunction with the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, N.Y., it’s a three-phase training program developed to introduce and train transitioning service members to business ownership, a press release from the Small Business Administration said.

The first phase is a short video introducing military service members to business ownership as a lifestyle, a two-day session and introduction to business ownership textbook and an eight-week online mini-MBA.

A woman who has participated said the program has enabled her to continue in something meaningful after leaving a 30-year military career.

Boots to Business training sessions are Aug. 21-22, Oct. 16-17 and Dec. 11-12, 2013.  To RSVP, email kimberly.taylor@hill.af.mil
