LAYTON — A two-year program for students interested in obtaining associate of applied science degrees and becoming Occupational Therapy Assistants is being added to heathcare degrees at Stevens-Henager College in Layton.
Occupational Therapy Assistants can work in skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, school systems, community settings and home health care, according to a press release. They are in high demand, said Dana Dunbar-Leavitt, dean and program director.
Therapists may be needed to help children with disabilities or help people regain skills after illness or injury. They also might work to support older adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.
