A community band, community choir, and community theater group are all in full swing, and have been for some years.
Band members typically gather each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Clearfield Community Center Little Theater, 140 E. Center Street.
Members get a break after July 4 until just after the Labor Day weekend, as well as during the Christmas holidays. But they’re pretty busy the rest of the time.
The band, which is nearly four years old, performs as part of the city’s Heritage Days July 4th celebration and at a Winter Wonders band/choir concert in December.
They’ve performed at such milestone events as the UTA FrontRunner grand opening ceremonies and the Tooele Arts Festival.
Conductor is Gretchen Myers. For more information, call her at 801-807-8648.
The choir also practices in the little theater at the Community Center, each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Breaks are taken between concerts, which are held in conjunction with the community band.
Anyone is welcome to join, particularly male singers, which is a constant for virtually every choir.
For more information, call Clearfield Community Services at 525-2790.
The community theater is already preparing for upcoming performances of “State Fair,” to be held as part of July 4th festivities, July 3-6, July 9-11. “The Boyfriend” will be performed Aug. 13-15 and 17, with both plays presented in the city’s outdoor Bicentennial Park Amphitheater.
The fall production, “Curious Savage,” Oct. 22-24 and Oct. 26, will be performed at the Community Center Little Theater.
