ANTELOPE ISLAND – Summer may be winding down, but the activity calendar for Antelope Island is still full of activities.
Starting Thursday and running through the weekend, the State Park is hosting numerous outdoor events that are sure to keep locals busy.
On Thursday, the park is hosting a “Summer Camp: A Day at the Beach” for youth ages nine to 13. The camp will take place from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will have kids exploring the Island and learning about brine shrimp and brine flies, among other things.
The cost is $25 for the day and includes entrance into the park, all necessary supplies, and lunch.
On Friday, Aug. 9, the park is hosting a Kayak Tour from 9-11 a.m. that will have registrants and park members paddling through the Great Salt Lake.
Spider enthusiasts will get the chance to be a part of the Spider Festival, taking place on Saturday, Aug. 10.
The tour will start at 9 a.m. and feature walks and lectures about the arachnids.
The latter two events are free. However, there will be a charge to get into the park.
