CLEARFIELD — The 13-year-old boy who was hit by a car while skateboarding Wednesday night has been listed in stable condition as of Thursday morning.

The boy was riding his skateboard in the road near 1100 South and 1000 East about 7 p.m. when he apparently fell off his skateboard and into the path of a passing vehicle, Assistant Clearfield Police Chief Mike Stenquist said.

The vehicle, driven by a 69-year-old woman, rolled on top of him and pinned him. Neighbors helped police jack up the vehicle and extricate the boy.

He was taken to Primary Children’s Medical Center by helicopter in critical condition, where he underwent surgery.

The driver of the car has not been cited. The accident is under investigation, Stenquist said.
