Dancers from Ili’O Polynesia perform at the Polynesian Festival in North Salt Lake last weekend. The festival was held both to celebrate the culture of the islands for those who have lived there, and to share that culture with local residents. “Our culture teaches love and respect for others,” said David McFarland, a North Salt resident from New Zealand. “It’s very family oriented,” said his wife, Malama, originally from Samoa.
