He was born in Ogden on Sept. 17, 1933 to Orville and Leila Holmes. He was raised in Marriott with three brothers and two sisters. He attended Wilson Elementary, Wahlquist Jr. High and graduated from Weber High in 1951. He served an honorable mission in the Central States Mission, under the guidance of Alvin R. Dyer. He married Carolyn Wall on Oct. 16, 1956 in the Logan LDS Temple. Sherm graduated from Weber College, served in the U. S. Navy and worked in the electrical engineering department at the University of Utah for 47 years.
Sherm and Carolyn raised one daughter and three sons: Melanie Frasier (Brett), Brent, Jeffrey (Stacy) and Blake. They had twin sons, Bruce and Boyd, who died at birth. They have eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In celebration of his 80th birthday, we celebrate the life he has lived. His family would like to thank all of those who have helped him along the way and say “Happy Birthday” to a remarkable man. We are grateful for your example, your testimony and for your devotion to our family! We love you!
