Cones and cars make Kaysville event

Cars sparkled in the sunshine earlier this month, but cones melted fast, as Shelly Tatton and grandchildren Sam Tatton, Zac Smith and Finn Doutt (from left) participate in Kaysville’s Cold Cones & Cool Cars. The event has grown from a tradition Gordon Christensen started 26 years ago, which was originally held on Sept. 22 to celebrate the anniversary of the creation of the ice cream cone. “Gordon to me is a perfect example of a citizen who gives far more than he ever takes,” said Mayor Steve Hiatt. Hiatt said the car show is a great opportunity for the city to gather and have fun, and a chance to develop cohesion and camraderie.
