BOUNTIFUL— The body of missing Bountiful man Daniel James Swindler has identified in South Carolina.

The remains were found Oct. 20 of 2010 but not identified until Swindler’s sister recognized his belt, backpack and forensic facial reconstruction sculpture on the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s Unidentified Remains website, according to an article published by “Lexington County Chronicle.”

Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman used dental X-rays and dental records to confirm the finding, according to the article.

The body of Swindler, then 38, was found at the Lake Murray spillway.

“ He was found wearing cut off jean shorts, brown leather sandals and a red backpack. Inside the red backpack was a blue colored T-shirt,” reads an article about the story published by Wistv.com. “Autopsy results were inconclusive as to the cause of death, but a forensic pathologist found no indication of foul play.”
