FARMINGTON —  The Bountiful/Davis Art Center is about to get some company.

Farmington’s American Legion Post 27 will soon have a new home in the historic Davis County Memorial Courthouse. The courthouse has stood largely empty after city offices moved into their new building nearby.

They’ll be housed  in two rooms on the main floor of the courthouse, which is just north of the new County Administration building.  The service organization signed an agreement with county commissioners last week.

“It’s a great thing for them,” said County Commissioner Louenda Downs, because they’ll have space easily accessible to provide programs.

“They (American Legion) sponsor Girls’ State, so many different programs. This will help them have a center to focus from,” she said, adding, “They provide so many services for young people.”
