BOUNTIFUL – Jihad Al-ali is dancing for peace.

The West Valley City resident is walking north from Provo to Ogden, making stops along the way to dance in support of peace in Syria. He’ll be making a stop near Bountiful City Hall this afternoon and evening, Oct. 4, and near the Bountiful Temple the morning of Oct. 5.

“I am dancing in peaceful protest,” said Al-ali, who is also known as Average Abdul. “I want to create a friendship between the American and Syrian people, rather than hate.”

Al-ali isn’t sure when he will start dancing, since he is walking to Bountiful. He said he will dance from the time he arrives until night, and tomorrow expects to dance for most of the day.

“Today I will dance for the city,” he said. “Tomorrow, I will dance for the community.”
