Dear editor,

Bountiful is fortunate to have excellent candidates running for city positions. As far as I know, all exhibit strong characteristics. I am particularly impressed by two of the candidates running for city council: John Pitt and Richard Watson.

John Pitt is a lifelong Bountiful native and longtime advocate for the city’s economy. John is an active and vocal supporter for local small businesses. His actions demonstrate that his heart is committed to Bountiful, improving its economic, cultural, and educational life.

Richard Watson, likewise, is strongly devoted to making Bountiful a wonderful place to live. For several years, he has served as the director for Bountiful’s highly successful Concerts in the Park program. He has lived in Bountiful for 26 years and has been involved in community services; currently he is a member of the Bountiful Food Pantry board.

In both cases, these are men who are committed to the strength of our community. They would, I believe, serve the citizens well working earnestly for a high quality of life. I encourage voters to examine their qualifications carefully.

Kim Burningham
