Vikings drop fifth straight; Braves, Wildcats win

BOUNTIFUL — The Viewmont Vikings had another tough week on the football field, dropping their sixth straight after losing to Syracuse 34-0.

At Bountiful High School, the Braves scored all but one of their touchdowns in the first half, rolling over Kearns 35-18.

Woods Cross also picked up a Region 6 win, beating Highland 41-21 at Highland High School.

Viewmont loses to Syracuse, 35-0

The Vikings lost another tough Region 1 game last Friday, losing to Syracuse 35-0.

Kavika Fonua led the running game for the Titans, scoring two touchdowns. Kole Tracy, Syracuse’s quarterback, went 14-for-20 passing with a pair of touchdowns as well.

Deondre Watson and Trevor Olsen each caught a touchdown from Tracy.

Bountiful rolls over Kearns, 35-18

The Bountiful Braves football team avenged last week’s loss to rival Woods Cross by beating up on Kearns 35-18 last Friday at Bountiful High School.

Four of the Braves five total touchdowns were scored in the first half, and quarterbacks Trevor Lloyd and Jordan Hayes each threw a pair of touchdowns in the win.

Kaden Larsen and Brady Litz each scored their first touchdowns of the season Friday. Larsen caught passes of five and 14 yards for his pair of scores, and Litz had a 74-yard catch and run for his first touchdown.

Wildcats roll over Rams, 41-21

In yet another pivotal game for the Wildcats, Woods Cross scored five first-half touchdowns as Woods Cross rolled over the Highland Rams 41-21.

Luke Jowers had two rushing touchdowns for the Wildcats, and the defense recovered a fumble for a touchdown to take a 35-0 lead at the half.

Games this week

Region 1 games will be played on Thursday this week as Viewmont heads to Layton. Davis, after having last week off, goes to Northridge High School to battle the Knights.   

Friday night will see the Braves travel to Cyprus High School to take on the Pirates. Woods Cross will host Kearns.

All games will kickoff at 7 p.m.
