The 10-wheel dump truck, carrying a load of asphalt veered right onto the on-ramp, and tipped on its side, spilling its load, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Officials closed the freeway entrance. It is expected to remain closed until about 1:40 p.m., while crews clean up the mess and authorities investigate.
The driver, a 53-year-old man, was treated at the scene and released. A passenger in the truck, a 32-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
