Brown, a 1965 graduate, was named to the CHS Alumni Organization Hall of Fame for her contributions to her community and her field of study.
A professor at the University of Utah, Brown is a concert pianist and has performed with the Utah Symphony and in Carnegie Hall. She has taken first place in international piano competitions and has shared her music extensively in the Far East and throughout the United States.
Brown is also a recording artist, arranger and composer, according to a press release, and her piano arrangements and CDs have been distributed worldwide.
She shares her knowledge as a teacher, teaching privately and at the university, where she works with pianists majoring in piano performance, according to material provided. Her students have received scholarships and won other state and national competitions.
Dan Gardner nominated Brown for the award, one shared by only six others in the school’s hall of fame. He also made the presentation. She was honored at an assembly and at the homecoming game.
