LAYTON – No charges will be filed against the 52-year-old man who has been rescued twice from Fernwood Park – the latest rescue on  Saturday.

“The last thing we want is for the public to feel they can’t call us,” said Davis County Sheriff’s Sgt. Susan Poulsen. “We’ll continue to do our job as we’ve always done it,”

The Kaysville man went for a hike on Friday and got lost off the Great Western Trail. The man got lost in the spring on same trail,  and had to be helped down the trail, authorities said.

“There was no intent to commit a crime and no law was broken,” Poulsen said.

The man spent the night on the mountain before a medical helicopter rescued him on Saturday morning. He had food and water with him.
