BOUNTIFUL – Utah students looking for opportunities to volunteer have a new resource available to them through Youthlinc, a local service organization that provides international opportunities as well.
In the past, the Youthlinc directory was printed and distributed statewide. It is now an online, interactive resource that can connect students with over 170 organizations and sites.
Students often express a desire to serve, but don’t know where to start, according to Julia Rametta, Youthlinc local service director.
“These Utah students want to volunteeer in their communities, but getting started was harder than they thought,” said Rametta. “The new Youthlinc Utah Local Service Directory makes finding a rewarding service site so much easier.”
Options are listed for those interested in volunteering with kids, helping the elderly, serving in health-care or at environmental agencies.
The directory can be accessed at youthlinc.org/localservicedirectory.
