WOODS CROSS – Kendall Sargent of Davis, Bryli Knell of Woods Cross, and Brighton Taylor of Bountiful can all call themselves All-State volleyball players.

After voting was done by the coaches of the 4A and 5A classifications, the recently released All-State volleyball teams listed the trio all as second-team members.

Sargent, a senior right-side hitter for the Darts, was voted to the second team after helping the Darts get into the 5A state playoffs for the fourth year in a row under coach Lori Salvo.

Northridge’s Kaitlyn Verbitski and Kelly Erwin also made the second team list. Viewmont’s Amanda Varley was also an honorable mention.

Rounding out the Davis County 5A schools was Layton’s Rylee Cate and McKell Moss; both were honorable mentions.

In 4A, Knell was the table setter for a Woods Cross team that went undefeated in the regular season and finished third in the 4A state playoffs.

Knell was the only Wildcats’ player to make the second team list. Teammates Lexi Lewis and Kacie Hirano also made the All State list as third team and honorable mention, respectively.

Taylor was Bountiful’s only player to make the second team list as well. The senior guided the Lady Braves to a 16-10 overall record and a second place finish in the Region 6 race.

Bountiful’s Sidney Brandon was voted to the third team, and Ally Packard, McCall Asay and Katie Allen made the honorable mention list.

Clearfield’s Taylor Spaulding made the first team 4A list after helping the Lady Falcons to an 18-15 overall record and a third-place finish in Region 6.

Kiersten Banks and Lucy Evans made the list as honorable mentions for Clearfield.
