In Education: Marketing campaign earns funds

KAYSVILLE – A video produced by marketing students at Davis High is bringing attention to the business they are promoting, even as it raises money for the Davis Education Foundation.

Marketing students created a video to promote Young Kia in Kaysville. They helped with the storyboard, the script and production of the 42-second video on YouTube, according to a press release.

Young Kia has committed to donate $1 for every view the video receives.  

“It’s rare that students get a chance to see their work actually used rather than graded and returned,” said Jeff McCauley, marketing teacher. “There is an entirely different level of accountability when students realize a business will actually use their ideas.”

The general manager at Young Kia was also enthusiastic about the collaboration.

“I love the enthusiasm the marketing students have at Davis High,” Price said. “It’s important for them to apply the skills they learn in the classroom to practical projects, which will, in turn, benefit them in their future careers. We look forward to working with Davis High on future Kia marketing campaigns.”
