WEST POINT - A woman suffered minor injuries after she crashed her car into a West Point house after running a red light on Sunday morning.

The accident happened about 7 a.m. as the woman was eastbound on 300 North and ran a red light, according to Davis County Sheriff's Sgt. Susan Poulsen. A man from Syracuse was traveling southbound on 2000 West in a pickup. He apparently clipped the woman's car causing her to spin out of control, Poulsen said. The woman's car went through two yards before striking a home at 262 N. 2000 West.

The woman suffered only minor injuries but had to be extricated from her car. She was taken to an Ogden hospital. The driver of the pickup was treated at the scene and released.

The accident remains under investigation, but Poulsen said she didn't believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
