KAYSVILLE – The Davis Darts boys’ basketball team picked up its eighth win in a row last Friday after taking down Jordan 73-40.

Viewmont, seeking to bounce back from a loss to Lone Peak, fell to American Fork on Saturday, 57-35.

At Copper Hills, the Wildcats of Woods Cross beat the Grizzlies to win their third straight game.


Darts score 36 points in third quarter, beat Beetdiggers 73-40

The Davis Darts used a 36-point third quarter in last Friday’s game against Jordan High School to catapult their way to an eighth straight victory.

Jesse Wade finished with a game-high 24 points and had six rebounds in the win. Elijah Kletzli scored 15 points and had nine rebounds, and Abel Porter scored 14 points for Davis.


Vikings lose second straight, drop close game to Lone Peak, 48-46

The Viewmont Vikings were one quarter away from beating the top-ranked high school boys’ basketball team in the state last Friday.

Against the Lone Peak Knights, the Vikings held a 39-32 lead after three quarters, but let it slip away after allowing Lone Peak to score 16 points in the fourth, and ultimately lost 48-46.

McKay Butler scored a team-high 15 points, and Porter May added 14 points in the loss, the Vikings fourth in their last six games. 


Wildcats win third straight, beat Grizzlies 70-63

The Wildcats boys’ basketball team picked up their third straight win last Friday, taking down Copper Hills 70-63 to close out non-region play.

Luke Jowers scored a game-high 23 points with three rebounds, and Garrett Grant added 18 points for the Wildcats in the win.


Games this week

Region play kicks off for boys’ basketball as Davis, Viewmont, Woods Cross and Bountiful all play Friday night.

The Darts and Vikings will be on the road, taking on Weber and Fremont respectively.

The Braves and Wildcats will both host their first region games against Kearns and Judge Memorial, respectively.

Tip off for all games is 7 p.m.
